Dubai Expo 2020 Construction

New drone footage has been revealed of Expo 2020 Dubai’s construction site, showcasing the major structural progress that has been achieved on the expo’s Thematic Pavilions – Foster + Partners-designed Mobility, Cox Architecture-designed Opportunity, and Grimshaw Architects-designed Sustainability – in addition to the Santiago Calatrava-designed UAE Pavilion of the next World Expo.

The video showcases a glimpse of the Dubai Metro Red Line’s extension as well – called ‘Route 2020’, the 15km extension project is being implemented by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority.

Expo 2020 Dubai says in its video that Route 2020 “is almost complete”.

Also visible in the video is the ‘iconic’ Al Wasl Plaza, the dome of which will be used by more than 250 Christie laser projectors to create displays on the inside, outside, and topside of the plaza’s 150m-wide projection surface.

Expo 2020 Dubai will run for 173 days after opening its doors on 20 October, 2020.

It is the first World Expo to be held in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia region
